The 2009 South Asian Football Federation Championship was hosted by Bangladesh from 4th to 13th December 2009.
Bangladesh was awarded to host the tournament after the withdrawal of original hosts India.
Bangladesh were drawn in Group B, along with Bhutan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Having won two and drawn one, they finished top of their table and eventually lost in the semi-final to India.
